SOVA
Effective date: January 1, 2026
SOVA is built on a simple principle: your sleep data belongs to you. We designed the app from the ground up to store everything locally on your device. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond making SOVA work for you.
🔒 SOVA does not collect, transmit, or store any personal health or sleep data on external servers. All sleep tracking, debt calculations, and check-in history live exclusively on your iPhone.
The table below describes everything SOVA accesses, where it is stored, and why.
SOVA never collects, requests, or has access to any of the following:
SOVA requests read-only access to HealthKit sleep analysis data to calculate your sleep duration and debt. We adhere strictly to Apple's HealthKit guidelines:
We never write data to HealthKit. We never share HealthKit data with third parties. HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing. All processing happens on your device using Apple's frameworks.
You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in your iPhone's Settings app under Privacy & Security > Health > SOVA. The app will fall back to morning check-in data.
SOVA uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls framework) to block selected apps during your nightly wind-down window. This permission is granted through Apple's standard authorization flow.
SOVA does not record which apps you use, how long you use them, or transmit any Screen Time data off your device. The blocking list you configure stays entirely on your iPhone.
The optional community features (leaderboard, challenges) use Google Firebase with anonymous authentication. This means:
No account registration is required. Firebase assigns your device a random anonymous identifier. No personally identifiable information is linked to this identifier. Only your chosen username and aggregate sleep score are stored in Firebase — never raw health or sleep data.
You can use SOVA entirely without enabling community features. If you choose not to, no data is ever sent to Firebase.
Google's privacy policy governs Firebase services: policies.google.com/privacy
SOVA is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
Because all personal data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:
To delete all data: Delete the SOVA app from your iPhone. All locally stored data is removed automatically.
To delete your community profile: Contact us at the email below and we will remove your anonymous Firebase record within 7 days.
To revoke HealthKit access: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > SOVA and toggle off any data types.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify users through an in-app notice. Continued use of SOVA after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how your data is handled, please reach out. We read every message.
